Nursery One - Term One Curriculum
Week 1 & 2
Topic: Review Numbers 1-10
Objectives: At the end of the lesson, pupils should be able to read, write, take down numbers during dictation, and group things into sets of 10. This is an essential part of MATHEMATICS NURSERY ONE to build a strong foundation in numeracy.
Lesson: 8 Lessons
Materials: Large coloured buttons and beads.
Activities:
- Reading the numbers.
- Writing the numbers.
- Taking down numbers during dictation.
- Grouping numbers into sets.
- Identifying a random arrangement.

Week 3 & 4
Topic: Filling the Missing Numbers

Materials: Pupils’ workbook.
Activities:

Week 5 & 6
Topic: Introduce Set Works
Objectives: At the end of the lesson, pupils should be able to count the items in a set, say how many, and then write them down. Set work is integral to MATHEMATICS NURSERY ONE.
Lesson: 8 Lessons
Materials: Beads, workbooks, and small cups such as candy or chocolate cups.
Activities: The teacher should arrange several sets of beads or buttons and get the pupils to count, say how many, and write the number.
Evaluation: Activities carried out during the lesson will form the basis of evaluation for this segment of MATHEMATICS NURSERY ONE.
